So far on this recent journey, I have been mesmerized by the temples here in Thailand. I was very much looking forward to my visit to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. I took an excursion via taxi about 20 miles up the Doi Suthep mountain. The road spiraled for many miles around the mountain. In Thailand you drive on the left side, and I was a bit nervous at what seemed like near head on collisions on the way up the twisting road. Once we arrived and made our way past the numerous vendors we bought the tickets and crammed into the cable car. I would have rather climbed the stairs for the much needed exercise.

To come inside the temple your shoulders and knees must be covered. You must also remove your shoes and be very quiet. Many visitors came into the temple, got on their knees and began to meditate. I saw an aura of peace on visitors when they completed their meditation.
When finished, we made our way down the 309 steps to the food vendors. A fruit smoothie was refreshing after walking around in the hot sun.
At the foot of the stairs, I met this little cutie. She looks to me be about three years old, but already a little business person.
Although the cultural differences are vast from my upbringing, I have acquired an appreciation for the Buddhist faith
